Mesa, Arizona, Gears Up to Host Premier Youth Soccer Competition |
The eagerly anticipated game schedule for the first National League Winter Event of the 2025-26 season has been unveiled, setting the stage for an exciting kickoff on October 31 in Mesa, Arizona.
For those accessing the schedule via Squadi, please note:
- Game times will display in your current time zone at the time of viewing.
- All matches are scheduled in Arizona's time zone, which remains consistent. On October 31 and November 1, Arizona aligns with Pacific Time. From November 2 onward, it corresponds with Mountain Time, as Arizona does not observe daylight saving changes.
- When arranging return flights post-Sunday games, consider these time zone specifics to ensure smooth travel plans.
The boys' teams are set to compete from October 31 to November 2, while the girls' teams will take the field from November 7 to 9. All matches will be held at the Arizona Athletic Grounds, located at 6321 S Ellsworth Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212.
Marc Frankland, National League General Manager, expressed his enthusiasm: "National League events are always an exciting opportunity to bring together talented players on proven teams, and there's even more to play for this year. With advancement to postseason competitions on the line, it will be a great atmosphere full of high-energy games."
This November event marks the first of two winter events for the 2025-26 season. The subsequent event is scheduled for January 30 to February 1, 2026, featuring both boys' and girls' competitions.
The winter events will showcase teams in the 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, and 19U age groups. Within each category, teams are divided into groups of four, with each team playing its three group opponents over the course of three days.
Teams finishing first in their respective four-team groups during the winter event will earn direct advancement to the 2026 US Youth Soccer National Championships. In most age groups, top second-place finishers will also secure spots in the National Championships, ensuring a total of 10 qualifiers from both winter events in each age group.
The remaining second-place teams will advance to The National League Cup Playoffs. The exact number of advancing teams will depend on the total number of teams competing in Mesa within each age group.
For age groups where second-place finishers advance to either the National Championships or The National League Cup, the specific postseason destination for each team will be determined after the January 2026 event concludes and tiebreakers are assessed.
As Mesa prepares to host this premier youth soccer event, the city continues to thrive with recent developments. Notably, the Mesa Planning Commission approved the 30-acre Carmelo development, emphasizing single-story residences to maintain neighborhood harmony. Additionally, the city has been recognized for its water conservation efforts, ranking first in its category for the highest percentage of residents pledging to save water during April's month-long campaign.
These community advancements, coupled with the upcoming National League event, highlight Mesa's commitment to growth, sustainability, and fostering a vibrant environment for both residents and visitors. |
